Artistic Statements
LARS NØRGAARD
Lars Nørgård studied at the School of Applied Arts (Skolen for Brugskunst) from 1975–78 and at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco from 1980–81. He is one of Denmark’s most prominent contemporary painters.
His works are included in the collections of nearly all state-recognized Danish art museums, including:
The National Gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for Kunst), ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, Arken Museum of Modern Art, HEART Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, Trapholt Museum, Kastrupgaard Collection, Esbjerg Art Museum, Herning Art Museum, and many more. His works are also part of Fondazione Aldega in Italy.
In addition, Lars Nørgård has created numerous works for public spaces, including projects at Aarhus University Hospital and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) north of Copenhagen.
