LOCA Gruppen, owned by Merete Holst and Dorte Juhl Østergaard, operates a variety of businesses in the restaurant and event industry, cafeteria management, as well as providing consulting services in the field of food and sustainable gastronomy.

  • LOCA Restauranter: Owns and operates the restaurant's KILDEN i haven, GAARDEN, STUDIO, Almanak, and Mission Green in Copenhagen, and is also a co-owner of Restaurant RADIO in Frederiksberg.

  • LOCA Kantiner: Manages the canteens, as well as the lunch delivery concept LUNCHROOM.

  • LOCA Management: Provides consulting services in the areas of food and sustainable gastronomy, and oversees the managerial and administrative aspects of LOCA's own businesses.


Our name, LOCA, is a contraction of “LOve before CAsh,” as the essence of LOCA is to conduct business with the heart in the right place.

The company was founded as a direct response to a series of concerning trends and negative consequences in the food industry specifically, and on the planet as a whole. Rising temperatures, melting icebergs, dying oceans, infertile and uninhabitable land, while global inequality continues to increase.

The development and growth of affluent countries have resulted in significant CO2 emissions, but the consequences primarily impact the poorest nations in the world – a situation that we simply cannot condone.

No one can do everything, but everyone can do something, and LOCA is our contribution to a brighter, fairer, and greener future for the next generations.

LOCA Gruppen is about making a positive change

LOCA was established in 2017 with the purpose of making a significant contribution to a greener future within the area that we are most familiar with: food and meals.

In all divisions of LOCA Gruppen, we operate based on clear values and a clearly defined vision and mission. Additionally, all of our businesses diligently follow a charter for sustainable gastronomy. This charter has been developed in accordance with our LOCA Manifesto.
